Ice-Skate Date

This date is all about fun, freezing, and falling (a little). Nothing says winter-weather-fun more than ice skating with your spouse! Even if you’re not an expert you can hold on to each other and glide together across the ice – laughing and showing off your best impression of Dorothy Hamill or Scott Hamilton!

The Portland area boasts three public-use ice skating rinks. Below are the links and addresses to all three.

The Lloyd Center Ice Area – Located at the Lloyd Center Mall in Portland, Oregon. Hit the ice and then get some dinner at the food court, or catch a movie at the Regal Theaters located in the mall.

953 Lloyd Ctr.
Portland, OR 97232
503-288-6073

Winterhawks Skating Center – Home of the Winterhawks Hockey team. The facility does offer several public skate times, but be sure to check the calendar on their website before going.

9250 Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy.
Beaverton, OR
503-297-2521

Sherwood Ice Arena – A little south of Portland, but worth the drive on a Friday night – date night at the Sherwood Ice Arena! Admission includes skating and skate rentals for two, two mini cheese pizzas, and two medium soft drinks from 7:30-9:30pm.

20407 SW Borchers Dr.
Sherwood, OR
503-625-5757

Relationship Reconnection:

While you and your spouse are ice-skating, if it is possible to hold hands while not falling do it! Sometimes life gets so crazy that we forget about the sweet physical touch of holding hands. Here is a chance to hold on for dear life if you have trouble skating! Also, while you are together, communicate about your everyday life. But most of all, have fun together!
